Open Call for Media and Information Literacy Assessment in Kyrgyzstan.

UNESCO Member States adopted Decision 197EX/46 to enhance UNESCO’s capacity to assist Member States as they prepare sharper strategies to prevent violent extremism (PVE). UNESCO has also committed to the UN Secretary-General’s Plan of Action to Prevent Violent Extremism, with a focus on priorities of direct relevance to UNESCO’s work: (i) education, skills development and employment facilitation; (ii) empowerment of youth; (iii) strategic communications, the Internet and social media; and (iv) gender equality and empowering women.

UNESCO Almaty Office intends to establish a 3 month contract to carry out an assessment on Media and Information Literacy in Kyrgyzstan and, organize a consultation process in preparation to the assessment and in validating the assessment.

Interested Universities, Teacher Training Institutes, Non-Profit research companies, Media NGOs, Library and Media Associations are invited to submit their Expression of Interest, including estimated budget by answering questionnaire before 30 March 2019.
