1 January 2018

According to Global Agenda on Education-2030, all learners should acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including through education for healthy and sustainable lifestyles. As it is important for people to lead healthy and productive lives, they need knowledge and skills to prevent any kinds of diseases and sickness. Education should ensure development of necessary skills, values and attitudes that enable citizens to lead healthy and fulfilled lives, make informed decisions, and respond to local and global challenges.

UNESCO supports the contribution of national education sectors to ending AIDS and promoting better health and well-being for all children and young people. At this section UNESCO Almatys activities on health education, including promoting healthy lifestyles, prevention of HIV and reducing any kinds of stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV are presented.
